Wedding Bell Blues is the fourth episode of ALF's second season. It originally aired on October 12, 1987.
Plot Summary[]
ALF joins the Brothers of the Peaceful Dominion after learning that his parents were married before he was born - a disgrace on Melmac.

Kate is making a Friar Tuck costume for Brian's school play,and ALF is asking her about Neil Armstrong. Willie comes home and ALF asks him to donate some money to the Brothers of the Peaceful Dominion
Act One[]
Kate is helping Brian try on the costume to measure it. Lynn is working on a family tree, which intrigues him. Kate suggests to ALF he try it. In the kitchen Willie brings some boxes in from ALF's spaceship. ALF then shows everyone pictures from his 4th grade class. including his teacher Miss Landers who was a vacuum cleaner, and pictures of his thumb. He then sees wedding pictures of his parents and realizes from the date on them, that he was born after his parents were married. ALF walks out of the room and starts sobbing. He stares blankly out the window in Kate and Willie's room. Kate asks what's wrong and ALF mentions that being born in wedlock the worst possible stigma on Melmac after being a cat-lover They let him alone in there for a while.
That morning, Kate and Willie into the kitchen for breakfast, only to see a note and his tape recorder on the table. The tape inside has a recording of ALF saying he's gone to a place where "Peace and Tranquility allow for the contemplation of life's vicissitudes" ALF wearing Brian's Friar Tuck costume rings the bell at the monastery and he invites himself in
Act Two[]
At the house Willie listens to the tape again, and Brian revealed that his costume is gone. Lynn comes home and Lynn realizes that what ALF said sounded familiar and she realizes that it's the same words on the monastery brochure that ALF showed everyone. They realize that is where ALF is
At the monastery, the monks are preparing some grapes for winemaking while ALF is talking and joking around. One of the monks gives him a "shush" gesture as they are a silent order. Willie arrives and asks the monk who answers the door if anyone has come there recently. He's beckoned in. ALF tells Willie this is his new home. Willie reveals something he's never told anyone before, which would remind ALF of his situation. Willie says that he used to think that his mother was the most beautiful woman he saw, and that when he was six he that once he learned that his mother wore wig he was very upset that she never told him this, and that Willie thinks the fact that ALF's parents probably never told him because they were trying to avoid his image of them being ruined. ALF then realizes that this is not his place. He tells the monks he's going to be leaving and they respond with applause.
Epilogue[]
ALF is sitting in the kitchen talking to a picture of his parents. Lynn and Brian come in to take some of ALF's cookies and Kate asks about the purple footprints from ALF's grape stomping. The family tells ALF they are glad he's back and walk out. ALF continues talking to the photo laughing about knowing Willie's mother wore a wig
