We Are Family is the twenty-fifth episode of ALF's second season. It originally aired on May 2, 1988.
Plot[]
ALF is lonely and wants to go out and meet people.

Willie chiding ALF for racking up a lot of bills. The Ochmoneks come over to invite the Tanners to a party for Jake.
Act one[]
Willie comes into the kitchen, and ALF scolds him, asking him if he ignored the sign on the door. It reads GENIUS AT WORK. ALF explains that he’s writing a press release. He’s decided to reveal himself to the world so that he no longer has to be in hiding.
He’s upset because ALF seems to have forgotten that the military would hold him in a lab and be would be trapped in a Skinner box style cage, wired up like a proverbial guinea pig. However ALF believes that if he showed himself to the world, he'd be the new star of Late Night with David Letterman with Willie replacing Paul Schaffer, and Sandy Duncan, as a guest.
Willie tells ALF that he's got a vivid imagination and that ALF should be more careful. ALF says he called 10 newspapers and a couple TV stations
Act Two[]
Brian is looking out the window to wait for any reporters. ALF walks in with a homemeade spacesuit and saying at least one reporter would be there since he promised to serve whiskey. Willie then comes in with a documentary about a Ugandan orangutan and puts it in the VCR. The video explains that the orangutan had become extinct. The Tanners repeat what they just heard to ALF, they understand that ALF is totally like that orangutan. ALF realizes the consequences If he did reveal himself The doorbell rings with the reporter there to find out the "media event of the century" and the whisky has been cancelled.
ALF goes into a depression Willie goes into his bathroom having come home from Jake's party and sees ALF eating in the tub. ALF asks Willie how the graduation party was and Willie says fine and worried about ALF. ALF is depressed because he can’t reveal himself and make new friends. Lynn brought him more food and it open up his spare stomach and eat so horrifying that it scared Lynn and Willie into leaving.
Later, Kate orders ALF to get out of the tub because she wants to take a bath, and when he comes into the living room everyone yells surprise. Dorothy, Jody, Jake, Larry, and the family cheer ALF up by showing him that his world isn’t as limited as he thinks he is. ALF get some presents from his friends including a sweater, a dustbuster, and the repaied CD player he broke. Brian calls for a speech and ALF talks about enjoying his friends.
The Ochmoneks come over and they're looking for Jake, they didn't come because they always go dancing on Saturday nights. Trevor whines about them not being invited but quickly change their mind when Kate said it’s a Tupperware party and guests are expected to bring gifts.
Epilogue[]
The party continues and Willie is playing the piano. Dorothy asks Willie to play And the Band Played On for everyone. ALF is annoyed goes to the kitchen as the song plays.
