Background information[]

Production history[]

  • Premiere airdate: December 10, 1988

Continuity[]

  • The title and story of this episode are parodies of “The Grapes of Wrath.”
  • The live-action teaser is a condensed version of the same teaser from “Hooray for Mellywood.”
  • ALF refers to the episode as another “chapter of Melmac Memories.”
  • Eddie's Cats-Up Diner has been renamed Galaxy Cafe. Stella mentions that it is still run by Eddie.
  • Miraculous Dip is perhaps a parody of Miracle Whip.
  • Flo voiced concern about paying for the house when Bob was laid off from work. This shows that the house was not yet paid off.
  • The mayo crates are labeled “Melmans” rather than “Mellman's.”
  • ALF says he has “four healthy teeth,” implying that those are all he has.
