Background information[]

Production history[]

  • Premiere airdate: January 7, 1989

Continuity[]

  • The title was a reference to the song Papa's Got a Brand New Bag.
  • Larson Petty read the Crudco catalogue. The bomb he looked at had a “member’s price,” so he must have been a member.
  • Petty’s uncle Lumbar passed away. He bequeathed 500,000 wernicks to Petty’s son, Eggbert.
  • Eggbert was missing for 200 years. Placing this episode in 1951/1952, Eggbert was born around 1751/1752.
  • Sloop said that The Weird Adventures of Commander Krud was Petty’s favorite show.
  • Gordon referred to Larson Petty as “the Scourge of Melmac.”
  • Sloop was raised in a banana bush by a pack of hairless banana moles.
  • Although it was the final episode, Gordon said “I'll see you next week” in the live-action epilogue.
  • Although Flo, Curtis, and Augie appeared in this episode, they did not have speaking roles.
