Continuity[]
- In the title sequence and closing credits, 'Melmacian' is pronounced "Mel-MAY-shin".
- ALF states that events in this episode occurred when he was 192 years old. Gordon says this was his “first year in the Orbit Guard”, implying he was there more than one year. "Help Me, Rhonda" establishes that Gordon turned 228 on the day of Melmac's destruction, in August, 1986. Therefore, this episode takes place between August 1950 and August 1951. This also places the animated series 35-36 years before the live action series. If Gordon served continuously, this means he spent 35-36 years in the Orbit Guard.
- Although Larson Petty was allegedly invading Melmac, his forces are never shown to be in space. Indeed, his vehicles are called jets rather than spacecraft. In addition, Petty says that his mission is revenge against Cantfayl. It is possible that Velcro is the capitol of Melmac, so the "invasion" can viewed as an attack on the planet as a whole.
- This is the only episode with a standalone title card. All other episodes show the title superimposed over the first animated scene.
