One World to Hope For is the name of a soap opera watched by Dorothy, and for which ALF writes scripts for at least two episodes. ALF is disappointed by the poor props work on the show and for their liberal re-writes of his scripts.
Characters on the show include husband and wife Butch and Monica. ALF writes in a mother character Dorothy based on Kate's mother Dorothy.
ALF continues to write scripts because he gets a profit (by paycheck from mail) for doing so. However, this was never seen again in the series, so it was possible the TV show stopped collecting scripts from ALF or ALF got writer's block and quit.
