ALF jokes that the Melmacian National Library burnt down losing both books, and one wasn't even colored in yet. He uses this joke over and over in his dream about being a famous stand-up comedian. Over time, the audience doesn't enjoy the joke (or any of his jokes anymore) and ALF ends up a has-been, working as an emcee at a club in Catskills.
