ALF is caught by an animal shelter worker and put in a dog cage at the shelter. A cat is brought into the shelter that looks very similar to Lucky. ALF escapes and takes the cat with him.

When ALF returns home, he presents the cat to the Tanner family, but while he was away, the Tanners found out that Lucky was in the Ochmonek's basement.

  • First episode concerning Lucky playing a major role.
  • First time ALF went into the outside world.
  • The first episode that centers around Lucky
  • This is the first time that ALF went outside, heavily referenced that it would be a fatal decision.
  • This is the debut of a running gag where Lynn loses her appetite due to ALF's grotesque antics. (it was the scene where Willie shown proof that ALF's hairball was not Lucky's hairball).
  • The Tanners family do not apologize to ALF for accusing him of eating Lucky as in the syndicated version. They perhaps do in the full broadcast length of the episode.
  • Antagonist: Keith
