Jack is the name of one of the residents at Sunset Villa retirement home. ALF meets her when he sneaks into the home to meet the actress Louise Beaumont. The other residents do not care much for Louise, but they help ALF sneak around the staff member Ben so that ALF can meet her and later, they all listen to music and dance on the roof.
Instead of working, Ben is more often found wooing his girlfriend on the premises of the home. He refers to this as "studying". Jack claims that after the operation, there is a chance that he will be able to "study" again.
