Eric William Tanner (born 1989) is the Tanner's baby, born in the last episode of season 3 ("Having My Baby"). In the episode Baby, Come Back, ALF shows that he can make Eric quiet down when he is crying.
Before Eric's birth, ALF prepared by watching episodes of The Dick van Dyke Show, in order to study the "Robert Petrie Method of Childbirth."
