Springstein

"You're the One Who's Out of This World" is the title of a song that ALF wrote for Lynn, from which he produced a rock video using the instruments that Lynn's boyfriend Scott Maynard was keeping in the Tanner garage (Episode: Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue?).

In the video, ALF dresses as various rock music icons such as Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, and Billy F Gibbons (ZZ Top). ALF sings and plays synthesizer keyboards, guitar, bass guitar, drums, and saxophone in the video.

Willie suggests the key of E-flat for the song, because he believes it to be more euphonius. ALF ultimately records the song in the key of D major. In an earlier draft of the song, ALF borrows from The Rolling Stones song "I Can't Get No Satisfaction" for the chorus. When looking over the song, Willie points out that this should be "I can't get any satisfaction."

Lyrics

Take a look at me and tell me what you see, just another pretty face.

Some clown from out of town, who came to hang around, and look a little out of place.

You say you wonder what on Earth I'm doing here.

I'm only here to tell you, girl. I may be an unknown from the Twilight Zone, but you're the one who's out of this world.

You're the one who's out of this world, sweet baby.

You're the one who's out of this world.

I'm spinning in an orbit, I ain't never been in,

'cause you're the one who's out of this world.

(Keyboard solo | Guitar solo | Alto Saxopohone solo)

You're the one who's out of this world, sweet baby.

You're the one who's out of this world.

I'm spinning in an orbit, I ain't never been in,

'cause you're the one who's out of this world.

You're the one who's out of this world, sweet baby.

You're the one who's out of this world.

I'm spinning in an orbit, I ain't never been in,

'cause you're the one who's out of this,

you're the one who's out of this,

you're the one who's out of this world.

(Guitar solo)

Credits version

I'm spinning in an orbit, I ain't never been in,

'cause you're the one who's out of this,

you're the one who's out of this,

you're the one who's out of this world.
